Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Jam (the “App”), a recipe-saving and meal-planning app for households, operated by Jam Cook LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

In short: Jam is a paid subscription app. You get a free trial, after which a recurring subscription is required to keep using the App. Recipes and nutrition details are provided for convenience only — always use your own judgment, especially regarding allergies and food safety.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements. The App is not directed to children under 13.

2. Your Account & Household

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Jam organizes content into a shared household. Recipes, meal plans, lists, and related content are visible to all members of your household. Only invite people you trust to your household. The account holder who manages the subscription is responsible for the household’s use of the App.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial & Billing

Jam is free to download but requires a paid subscription to use beyond the free trial. Subscriptions are sold as family accounts priced by the number of household members.

Plans

Duo (up to 2 members): $7.99 / month or $71.99 / year.
Family (up to 5 members): $9.99 / month or $89.99 / year.
Family Plus (up to 8 members): $12.99 / month or $116.99 / year.

Current pricing, available plans, and any applicable taxes are shown in the App and on the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase, which control if they differ from the amounts listed here.

Free trial

New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Auto-renewal

Your subscription automatically renews for the same period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your payment method is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current price for your plan.
Payment is charged to your App Store (Apple ID) or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.

Managing & canceling

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds & price changes

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refunds are handled under the applicable store’s policies; we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.
We may change subscription prices or plan features. If a change affects your active subscription, we will provide notice as required by the applicable app store and by law. Price changes take effect on your next billing period.

Note: A “family account” in Jam refers to your Jam household and is not the same as Apple Family Sharing or Google Play family features.

4. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own household’s non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the recipes, notes, lists, and other content you create or add (“Your Content”).
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the App to you and your household (including sending recipe content to our processors to parse it, as described in the Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to save and use it. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have permission to use.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other accounts, or our systems.
Interfere with or disrupt the App, or circumvent usage limits, security, or subscription controls.
Use automated means to access the App in a way that burdens our systems.

7. Third-Party Content & Services

The App lets you import recipes from third-party websites and apps, and uses third-party services (including Apple, Google Firebase, Anthropic, Sentry, and RevenueCat) to operate. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, content, or services. Imported recipe content belongs to its original owners; you are responsible for how you use it.

8. Recipes, Nutrition & Food Safety Disclaimer

Recipe details, ingredients, cooking times, dietary labels, and any nutrition information in the App — including content parsed automatically from imported recipes — are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Jam does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Always verify ingredients and instructions yourself, especially regarding allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, and safe food handling. You are solely responsible for the meals you prepare.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the App or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that state, except where prohibited by law.
